Christmas Activities

December 12, 2019

Hi friends! Tis the season for family and fun – hopefully both together hahaha which means Christmas Activities!

Christmas is approaching – a really magical time of the year!  Making a list of things to do really cuts down on the stress and helps you feel accomplished at the end of the day.   Many of the Christmas activities I am going to share in this post are things I  have done throughout my childhood and continue to do now. After all, it is all about making memories, right?

So, let’s start with making Christmas crafts.  Popcorn is so delicious and can be strung as garland to trim the tree.  Christmas  ornaments and cards are always fun to make and send to family!

Next on my list is making Christmas cookies and entertaining friends with the annual cookie swap/exchange.  This activity is always a hit and I always make enough to share later with friends!

Additionally, writing a letter to Santa and mailing it to the North Pole was probably my favorite activity and let’s not forget to leave the cookies out by the chimney too!  I also loved making hot chocolate with fluffy marshmallows to take on the CHRISTMAS LIGHT TOUR!  I think we went at least 5 times in the month of December and each time saw something different.  So magical = the lights twinkling on houses, snow falling in the gigantic snow globe, musical tall nutcracker men lining the yards, music playing, so much to take in!  At my house, we always took a meal to the homeless and wrote cards to those serving in our military. One thing I can’t forget is watching those all day ‘make you feel cozy’ Christmas movies and making my Christmas playlist!

If you are in Jacksonville there are two light displays you cannot miss. One is off of Beauclarc road and the other is off in a neighborhood. You go down Lippizan towards the elementary school and then its on a road to your right – literally cannot miss it.

One thing we have done as a family for the past three years is PHOTOS!

I love pictures and this year, I’m continuing that family tradition with PROFESSIONAL HOLIDAY PHOTOS! This will become a “MUST DO”on my Christmas list! Hubby and I did our photos this year at the Casa Feliz Museum with professional photographer Chynna Pacheco!  She was a dream to work with. She made everything so easy. Literally just showed up and smiled. I love that she chose the place and really walked my husband and I through everything. He felt very comfortable and loved it – which of course makes me happy! Her work is bright, clean and timeless. I cannot wait to get these framed and on the wall. Seeing her vision come to life was such a joy.

(See below for information on how to book with Chynna)

I love making scrapbooks and reliving holiday moments and this is a perfect way to get started.

Whatever is on your Christmas activity list, make sure to build those forever memories.  After all, they do last a lifetime!
