It was a long time coming.
I remember two months into blogging, my husband and I were writing our New Years resolutions out. And mine was to get to 100K by the following year. Well, 2015 flew by and I closed the year with 30k. I remember looking at that mountain thinking HOW WILL THIS EVER HAPPEN.
2016 flew by and I was ready to give up. I wasn’t advancing as quickly as I had hoped and I was super discouraged. I was stuck at 50K and the number was not moving. 2017 came and went, I received more exposure through networking with awesome gals and some larger Brand partnerships, and 50k became 65, then 70, then 75.
2018 came and went and the blog had an incredible year. Still growing in size, collaborations and partnerships, and heart and mind, I was on fire. Determined mind and confident heart, day after day doing the next best thing. Partnerships grew, content continued improving, strategic alliances, and new and improved marketing development techniques were playing out for the win.
2019 I was invited to the Revolve Festival, landed a large giveaway with Goodsey that I had dreamed about since before I started my blog, featured as Floridas Favorite Blogger in Florida Style Magazine, did my first ever NYFW, Superdown Ambassador collabs, and the list goes on. Closing 2019 and FINALLY reaching that 100K MILESTONE. It felt like FOREVER.
BUT. What God did in that process was critical to the success T&T is experiencing today. No one else could have done it, it was a molding and maturing process this little blog of mine had to go through. It reminds me of this verse,
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. James 1:2-6
I debated for months about having a party. I could have done the 100K blogger balloon, I could have done a fun shoot, but it kept ringing in my heart to have a CELEBRATION and invite my gal pals and enjoy connect IRL. Since my business is digital marketing and rarely do I get to see anyone outside of the screen.
The party was an absolute HIT and SO much fun. My mom drove up from Jacksonville, friends came from near and far.
Husband gave an impromptu speech that had me soo excited. Basically highlighting how my passion and dedication to the blog has caused it to grow year over year and turned from a hobby in to an actual business. He said he loves seeing the woman and Entrepreneur I am becoming. I must say, coming for such a successful business minded guy, I was really thankful he recognized it. Because behind it was 3 and 4 am’s of blog organization, learning widgets and back end editing, endless hours of research. Some really bad failures and challenges I had never imagined.
All of the girls bags were sponsored by my brand partnerships that I know and LOVE.
Sasha, my event coordinator @theblondeconfetti found the BEST local partners to join forces with us and make this once dream come to REAL LIFE. She was literally the best to work with. She was on top of everything and it was such a smooth process. NOT ONE DETAIL WAS MISSED!
The Decor was out of this world. @orlandocakesandballoons created the most gorgeous balloon arch backdrop with a fur rug and it made for the most gorgeous photos.
I must say being with these girls in real life, to hug them, to laugh with them, to celebrate, was the best thing for me. The truth behind all the pretty pics and smiles is that Blogging is hard. And I don’t mean to be negative or a downer, but developing real, deep relationships from behind a computer screen has its own set of challenges. So being able to be in real life with like minded girls who understand the way of blogging, what’s important, what matters, and FULLY SUPPORT AND CARE was just such a blessing. Every single one of these girls are quality women with hearts of gold.
Girls, thank you for celebrating with me and remembering me with so much love.
And to my readers, thank you. I know some of y’all have been with me since the very beginning. While I am the face of all of this, YOU are what make it possible.
Jason Cordoba was our photographer and THE BEST to work with. Strategizing with me and checking off my list, he kept me on track and organized to get every single shot.
His work is some of the best I have seen and the whole process was super simple. He also had the quickest turn around time I’ve known at under 3 days. WOW! Check out his website at
@orlandocakesandballoons did all of the balloon decor including the balloon arch. It was so easy and convenient. They arrived ahead of time, set up everything, even brought a gorgeous faux white carpet, had available pedestals, and ultimately created this gorgeous spot that played great for a backdrop of photos.
